lyrics
Confiding I found pleasure
I think in its way that it’s meant to be
The keeper of this body
Once I knew them it was often me
tonight I hope we’re lost in dance
utopia in a trance
blueprint of liberation
sweat and step repetition
We wake my body is a song
I don’t even notice the pulsing in my head
and my latent, dancing stomach
welcome mutual building harmonies
and a lean towards dissonance
What of pause and what of pulse?
I’d like to wield that the most.
Residing I found treasure
I don’t need to know what they mean to me
Prescribed in them a value
Something not far from arbitrary
Tonight I hope we’re lost in dance
utopia in a trance
blueprint of liberation
sweat and step repetition
“We must find temporal modes unintelligible to the tongues of racial capitalism and neoliberalism. The most prominent, widespread assassinations are slow, stretched across linear time. Poverty and neglect are $CAPITAL$ punishments, weapons of choice for behemoth serial killers, corporate masters of slow death processing. So, we pause. “

There is a lot to hear here and unsurprisingly it's a mixed bag, but Passing Strange's stunning arrangement of "Tourniquet" blows me away. They make it sound like it was ALWAYS a piano ballad, and their contribution was to rock it up with lively drums. summer villain
