Pulled a muscle in my sleep In the dream the snake was Inching cross the edge of the house Then when they said to me Walk carefully Sometimes I am a liar Sometimes I have nothing left to shout Sometimes I am a liar Sometimes I have nothing left to shout In this dream I was the snake Said can you help me out? All secret creatures are in danger Of being found out All secret creatures are in danger All secret creatures are in danger Of being found out All secret creatures are in danger

you drew it with a tired hand a sleeping horse in golden sand and there along the riverbank your heart sang, my heart sank night after night without a word to say wondering what lies a star’s length away I wonder what it is they’ve shown you and you alone you heard the songbird saunter in singing the salt off torn-up skin and in her quiet charcoal stains your heart remains, my heart remains our fingers try at the knot every day longing to hold what’s a stone’s throw away tree, will you answer my prayer if I climb? undo the pain of the passage of time was there a time we could have known you and you alone?

We were a joke on the porch, passing smoke back and forth, shitty timing Three stems of aster, a dried up disaster all left in the binding Papa is that you, or the hairpin bulb loose in the dining? I don’t need to be reminded I’m dying Antidepressant, sedated the second I look at him smiling Biblical name, go on, fill me with shame, I got a silver lining He takes off his shoes, carries me through the blues to the island We’re almost there but I still have dreams where I wake from your bedroom, crying Falling asleep at the wheel and I’ll die before dialing New year resolve to be nice (again), Momma I’m trying Take me back, Ana, the library, manifesting something more exciting What I would give to go back there and live in the pages of your handwriting

When the weight got heavy, when I quit my job I pulled the covers up just to get some dark And you came under, rented space right next to me And we stayed underneath ‘til it got hard to breathe And I kiss your back Cause I don’t want an aftermath The next door neighbor’s bass keeps pounding through the wall They never turn it off And I can’t hear my thoughts I’m trying to ignore it, I’ve got shit to do I wanna think of you I wanna think of you And I miss looking up The light fixture on the ceiling looks like a halo when your head’s in front And we wake up to the sound of the heat coming on You are still keeping the beat of my pulse Maybe when the arrhythmia hits you can give me a shock And I won’t take it for granted at all
9.
In my search something is lost ‘I’s taking up my thoughts Fullness of the sun When I’m engulfed I am gone Cleared out some gunk and I’m face to face No distance between the air and my skin Wanna be like you You’re a mountain view It’s a flash in the dark It’s a flash in the dark

I miss my dog My life is not the same My circadian rhythm is off My body is uncomfortable I'm disoriented The house is too big The rooms are too empty He was my shadow, always in the corner of my eye always in my periphery I miss he jingle of his collar from the other room the tapping of his toes on the floor No words, just presence and company His deep brown knowing eyes Look of acceptance, look of companionship a look of simple love Love with no language Reliable love Makes me feel present alive I wanna wrap my arms around his big hefty neck and breathe in through my nose to take in his warm earthy smell The smell of flowers animal sun dirt sleep grass wood dust rain skin mold soft pepper milk hair wind heat snow sweat

No hug upon arrival, Now I'm stuck on our survival No kiss, upon goodbye I won't get a wink of sleep tonight Cus my brain is an arcade Where I play myself in pong I cry and my fears multiply All day long Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Rest my mind, Cool my eyes When there's nothing to reflect, My mind keeps making mirrors Ive lost sight of reality and my ideas and where they intersect Cus my brain is an arcade Where I play myself in pong I cry and my fears multiply All day long Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Remind me, remind me, remind me that you're mine Rest my mind, Cool my eyes credits

We were on a bench in the gardens, our foreheads pressed together our eyes open. And did your heart skip a beat like mine did? I was lost in love, but now I know where to find It was hard being hard to get; so many rules, but you saw right through them. And if we had to do this over I wouldn’t change how it all unfolded. When we met up for coffee and you kissed me on the street, I wasn’t sure where this was going but now I love you and you love me. So I’ll hold you close and dearly, and you’ll kiss me and call me sweetie. And if you need to be reminded of all my love I’ll show you where to find it.

blinding our diamond memory twirls mischievously sweet and longs for a place to sleep will all this be gone or can we hold our song it tears me apart the beauty in our loss

Symmetrical, you visit me in my car While I drive to the house of all translators’ great regrets Two rings in your tits, dual sets of arteries A cloud of perfect parity is you And the destitution you give That’s the paradox of sin Say goodbye to rendered water In the back of a flash Every time I’m afraid, I get high on honeymoon island Every time, I get high, I hide on honeymoon island Say goodbye to rendered water Yeah the destitution you give That’s the paradox of sin Say goodbye to rendered water In the back of a flash

When you lie and decide To emerge for the day There’s a look in your eyes That way When you finally arrive There’s some veil of success Like a 9-hour drive Busted Webster Dictionary coming out of your head You’re so smart and scary, bet you didn’t know that I’ve been waiting for ya Hard to explain it for ya I’ve been slowly reeling We’ll find a deeper feeling When your light isn’t there Like it left on a breeze There’ll be no one to care Feed me When the harmony stops Hits me straight in the heart I guess I’ll have to do My part Webster Dictionary coming out of your head You’re so smart and scary, bet you didn’t know that I’ve been waiting for ya Hard to explain it for ya I’ve been slowly reeling We’ll find a deeper feeling
